Observer, the cyberpunk horror game developed by Bloober Team, is officially available for Mac and Linux. The game was released today, October 24, 2017.
The official reveal came straight from Aspyr Media, the game’s publisher, but also the studio responsible for the MacOS and Linux ports.
Developer Bloober Team delivered an accomplished and original horror game with Layers of Fear. I’m not surprised their second horror game has done so well. In fact, both are among the finest horror games available on Mac.
Observer on Mac: Everything you need to know
Observer is a great-looking first-person shooter game that uses the power of the Unreal Engine. But that also means this is one demanding game with high requirements.
These are the game’s minimum system requirements:
- Operating System: 10.12.6 (Sierra)
- Processor: Intel Core i5 (4 cores)
- Processor Speed: 3.3 GHz
- Memory: 8 GB
- Hard Drive Space: 20 GB
- Video Card (ATI): R9 M290
- Video Card (NVIDIA): GeForce GT 680
- VRAM: 2 GB
- NOTICE: Intel video cards are not supported to run Observer
As you can see, a capable dedicated graphics card will be needed and I can confirm first hand that integrated graphics are not supported. My 13-inch MacBook Pro from 2016 couldn’t even launch it…
