Arma 3’s Mac version available in Beta – Now supports 64-bit

Work on Arma 3’s experimental Mac port, the open-world tactical shooter from Bohemia Interactive, quietly continues. Virtual Programming, the team in charge, just added 64bit support and updated the ports to version 1.70. This brings the Mac version much closer to Windows, but cross-platform multiplayer will remain impossible until they both share the exact same version. Warning: Bohemia Interactive has stated again and again that these experimental ports may never be fully released (and could be dropped at any moment). Keep this in mind before purchasing Arma 3 solely for its Mac version.   Why is Arma 3 different? Set...

Game watch: The future Mac games that have me excited

Guys, I have a problem… Sometimes, there are simply too many Mac games to cover! Really, I’m not joking. I admire guys like Liam from Gaming On Linux, pumping out news 20 times a day. I think it’s time to go ahead and kill this rumor… We all got excited when first-person shooter Killing Floor 2 launched on Steam Early Access and developer Tripwire Interactive announced a Linux and SteamOS version. If they release it on Linux, why not on Mac, especially as the macOS platform is bigger. Or so I thought… When I finally got a hold of them, they said: @MacGamerHQ We will look at a mac version of #KillingFloor2 in the future, but are not actively working on one now. — Tripwire Interactive (@TripwireInt) April 8, 2015 Ever since, the Linux...

Civilization 6 for Mac: Summer 2017 Update and new DLC now Live

You know how impressed I was with Civilization 6’s Mac version. Barely 3 days after the Windows release, on October 25, 2017, Aspyr secured Civ 6 for Mac. That was probably some kind of record. Yet Aspyr didn’t stop there. They have continued to support the game and today Civ 6’s Mac version gets the latest DLC and a noteworthy update. You can download Civilization VI’s Mac version from the Mac App Store: Civ 6 is the first major entry in the series since 2010. At the time, Civ 5 was a revolution, completely changing combat mechanics and proving that...
