Is Assassin’s Creed Mirage Coming to macOS?

by | Oct 12, 2023

In the 2023 Apple Event, several interesting gaming news were revealed. Resident Evil 4, Assassin’s Creed Mirage, and Death Stranding Director’s Cut would soon be available on the iPhone 15. Soon after, it was also been confirmed that Resident Evil 4 and Death Stranding Director’s Cut would be coming to Mac later.

Which brings us to today’s discussion. Following that trend of having iPhone 15 games also coming on macOS, can the same be expected with Assassin’s Creed Mirage? Will it be coming to Mac as well?

Assassin’s Creed Mirage Mac release

So far, there is no confirmation nor release date for Assassin’s Creed Mirage on macOS. However, the trend set with Resident Evil 4 and Death Stranding also coming to Mac after the iPhone 15 announcement is highly promising. No further details about a possible Mac port have been released as of now, which means AC Mirage remains all but a rumour. We’ll keep an eye out for any announcements regarding this topic.

Assassin’s Creed Mirage Mac System Requirements

With AC Mirage, Ubisoft decided to move away from the expansive open-world style of AC Odyssey and Valhalla and return to a smaller world scope. With this reduced size and the impressive Metal integration we’ve seen lately, AC Mirage will probably require less power to run as well, which is a hopeful indicator of its macOS performance.

No details have been released for the macOS operating requirements as of now. We’ll keep an eye out for any announcements regarding this topic.

About AC: Mirage

Assassin’s Creed Mirage is the latest installment in the Assassin’s Creed series and the successor to 2020’s Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. Set in 9th Century Baghdad, you play as Basim, a “frenemy” from AC Valhalla. Mirage serves as Basim’s personal story, giving us a supposedly better understanding of his character.

While the story is nothing to write home about, the gameplay is highly refreshing. With no xp and character leveling, stealth is once again the gold standard in Mirage. One wrong move and the simplest of enemies can decapitate you. With eagle scouting and conveniently placed environmental objects, Mirage marks the return to Assassin’s Creed fundamentals.

Why is Assassin’s Creed Mirage such a big deal for macOS?

Assassin’s Creed is a critically acclaimed series, arguably the main franchise responsible for Ubisoft’s success. To have Mirage, the latest release from Ubisoft, be native on an iPhone 15, is an event worth remembering. It shows that Apple is getting serious about joining the gaming market, especially when AC Mirage was used to showcase the new gaming capabilities of the iPhone 15.

Hopefully, this trend will continue into the future, so Mac gamers like us can have easy access to the latest releases like the rest of the gaming community.
