We Happy Few for Mac is almost upon us
For the patient few, you will be happy to hear that the release of We Happy Few for Mac is almost upon us.
This is good news indeed, as we have suffered a long wait to play this intriguing title. Developer Compulsion Games originally released the game in Beta form for Windows machines in 2016, but the full version has been held back from release in an effort to perfect the game mechanics.
The full game was due for full release in April 2018, but it has now been put forward to later in the year.
What is the game about?
This indie survival horror game has been garnering a lot of good press for a while. First-person adventure fans (think Bioshock) and lovers of classic dystopian fiction (think 1984 and Brave New World) should be excited about the release.
Set in a retro-futuristic 1960’s England, an alternative timeline is taking place after the events of World War 2. The inhabitants of this fair country are perpetually happy due to an enforced use of the drug Joy, as government leaders seek to make the populace forget about the horrors that ravaged their country.
Playing as one of three playable characters in this procedurally generated world, your job is to rebel against the tyrannical rule. You choose how the game unfolds, and the developers promise no two games will be alike, as the world changes based on your actions.
Expect role-playing, survival, and stealth-like elements in an ever-changing open-world environment.
