Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War 2 is now available on Mac

Hot on the heels of their Deus Ex: Mankind Divided announcement, Feral Interactive just released Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War 2 for Mac and Linux.

The classic real-time strategy game, along with the Chaos Rising and Retribution expansions, were released today, September 29.

Developed by Relic Entertainment for Windows, Dawn of War games are some of the most famous strategy games ever created. When it was first released, Dawn of War 2 became an instant classic because of the great graphics and the way it combined real-time strategy with role-playing elements.

Plus, the game features a solid campaign set in the lore of Warhammer 40,000 and a highly popular multiplayer where you can either plunge into skirmish mode or team up with others in The Last Stand, a cooperative survival mode.

Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War 2 for Mac is available on the Mac App Store for $19.99. The Chaos Rising expansion is $19.99, while the Retribution expansion is $29.99. For those who are interested in the complete package, the Feral Store has a Master Collection (including the base game and the Chaos Rising and Retribution expansions for $54.99).

These are the game's minimum system requirements:

  • OS X 10.10.5
  • Intel 1.8 GHz
  • 4GB RAM
  • 18GB Hard drive
  • 512MB Graphics

The following graphics cards are not supported: ATI X1xxx series, ATI HD2xxx series, Intel HD5300, Intel GMA series, Intel HD3000, NVIDIA 7xxx series, NVIDIA 8xxx series, NVIDIA 3xx series and NVIDIA 9xxx series. The following cards require you to have 8GB of System RAM: Intel HD 515 and Intel HD4000.

    Why are the System Requirements that high compared to the Windows Version from 2009!!! (Minimum 512MB VRAM!?!?!)
