This flying exploration game has been on my radar for a while.

InnerSpace for Mac, Windows, and Linux was released on January 16, 2018, and along with the news, team PolyKnight Games also released a brand-new trailer.

To be honest, I only knew about InnerSpace because it will be published by Aspyr Media, one of the leading porting companies for Mac (and I closely watch everything Aspyr and Feral do). But the more I learn about it, the more I genuinely want to get my hands on it!

Originally funded on Kickstarter, InnerSpace is an exploration flying game set in the Inverse, a world of inside-out planets where gravity pulls outward instead of in. Also of note, the Inverse is a dying realm where entire civilizations perished, yet ancient gods still wander… There are other indies that specialize in underwater adventures, but if your thing is to soar into the sky, InnerSpace is the indie for you.

InnerSpace on Mac: Everything you need to know

We will tackle the “Can I run it” question as soon as we get our hands on the game. In the meantime, these are the system requirements:

  • OS: OS X 10.11 or 10.12
  • Processor: Intel Core i5 (4 Cores) 3.2 GHz
  • Memory: 8 GB RAM
  • Graphics: 1 GB Nvidia 675MX or later / AMD 6970 series or later
  • Storage: 5 GB available space

As you can see, this won’t be your typical retro-looking indie that can run on everything. Requiring 1GB of dedicated video RAM, you will probably need a recent machine to enjoy this one.

We will see in detail how demanding the game is.

In the meantime, Aspyr is giving away a few copies. You can also find the game on Steam.

Will you be getting this one? Let me know in the comments.
